Hillary’s Health Care Plan Reviewed, Part 1

Submitted by Fritz Scheffel (RSS Feed)

It could he helpful to review all proposed “universal” or “single payer” health care plans but that would lead to way too much confusion. While terminologies may differ from one plan to another there remain a lot of basic concepts that are common to all. With this in mind let us focus on the proposal getting the most coverage in the news, and that would be Hillary Clinton’s Health Care Plan.

With history as a guide let us begin by reviewing what has happened in the last fifty or so years. Prior to government’s intervention in our health care needs, the government created “socialized” retirement called Social Security that is forecast to go broke. Then government created “socialized” public education and after all these years of failure, public schools are graduating students that cannot even balance a checkbook. Every election cycle our politicians tell us we are not spending enough money on education. This from elected officials and a bureaucracy that buys $600 toilet seats for the military and sends “political pork” (really our tax dollars) back home to voters by the train load who then build bridges to nowhere, and spend more millions to study the effect of elephant dung on global warming.

Why does anyone think the government can manage “socialized”, “universal”, or “single payer” health care plans? With this in mind let us begin a review of Hillary’s Health Care Plan, which should be more accurately called “A Health Plan for Fantasy Land”. The plan is actually called “The American Health Choices Plan: Expanding Choice and Ensuring Affordable Coverage” With just the title anyone with a sense of the government’s track record and a modicum of financial intelligence should suspect this plan cannot and will not work. Stay tuned for the next installment!!

re: $600 toilet seats - My dad put 3 brand new American Standard toilets in his home this summer for only $200 each. They use only 1.6 gallons per flush - talk about water conservation! Maybe these $600 military toilets seats are for those new military toilets that are designed for the southern hemisphere and force our northern hemisphere counter clockwise flush to make our troops feel more at home. It's worth a little extra $$$ for that, eh!
